Pekin Wastewater Treatment Plant
Phase 2B

Project Description:

Phase 2B of the upgrade overhaul involves the new Secondary Claraification Tanks along with adding a new Primary Clarification Tank. Additional upgrades for the plant include modifications to revamp the CSO process for the plant. With new dewatering measures in place during the Phase 2A Contract being constructed by WBCI the Phase 2B Contract transforms a Sludge Lagoon into a CSO Storm Water Lagoon that is fed by two (2) 72” lines over 400 ft. each. These lines are connected to a reconstructed Excess Flow Lagoon that is equipped with a new CSO Screen Pump Station. The project also includes the construction of a new Chlorination and De-chlorination Building to service a converted Chlorine Contact Tank with the capability of treating Excess Flow Structure.

WBCI will be self performing the excavation, structural concrete work, installation of the process equipment, and the coordination and scheduling of the mechanical and electrical subcontractors’ work required to maintain the plant operations at all times throughout the project

WBCI also recently completed the Phase 1 improvements at the plant which included a new Headworks Building and is completing Phase 2A.
